What To Expect – Individuals

After your initial enquiry, we will ask you to send copies of the documents you need to notarise (if you haven’t done so in your initial communication), as well as any supporting documents and instructions you may have received form the receiving authority.

Once we have a clear idea of your requirements, We will provide you with a quote detailing our fees and any known disbursements associated with the work request and offer you an appointment.

AT THE MEETING
You will need to bring your ID and a proof of address to the meeting, Ideally this would be your passport and a recent Bank Statement or utility bill. In addition to your ID and proof of address, you will need to bring the documents you need notarised. Please note that we can only accept original certificates as evidence of public records, such as birth, marriage, and death. Copies will not be considered valid in this case. If you have emailed us the document, we will print them ready for you to sign. Please do not sign anything in advance of the meeting, the documents need to be signed in front of your notary. Philip will usually discuss the document briefly with you and explain the process.

If your documents only need notarisation we will prepare them will you wait. If your documents need an ‘apostille’ or ‘legalisation’, we can arrange that for you. In those cases, we will keep the document for processing and either return the document to you by special delivery in the UK or to the final destination by courier (DHL).

Once your documents have been apostilled and/or legalised, we will email you to let you know your documents have been posted. If we are sending the documents to the country where they will be used, we will email you tracking details and a copy of the document.
